Mt. Baker

Mt. Baker is a small neighborhood located between Seattle's 31st Avenue and Lake Washington, south of Madrona and north of Rainier Valley. Mt. Baker Park is a great place to which you can escape. Its many trees, streams and fields make a wonderful summertime setting for its popular "Day in the Park." This event features organized games, and is a social hub for many parents. At Mt. Baker Park you will also find a tennis court, as well as a newly-constructed playground. One block north of the park is Mt. Baker beach, where nearby are held the summer Seafair Weekend hydroplane races, and over which the Blue Angels perform.

In the Mt. Baker neighborhood you will find a shopping center, complete with eateries and gift stores. The Madrona neighborhood to the north features many fine restaurants and its popular swimming dock. The Mt. Baker Community Center offers a central neighborhood meeting place, where many community activities are held, such as daycare, dinners and dances.
